The Song Rising is almost here! I am thrilled as a Bone Season Advocate to be sharing with you today a sneak peak of the book!
The Bone Season was one of those books that blew me away. I read it before I started blogging and before I found the online book community. I was so in love with Samantha’s world building and characters that this book became an instant favorite.
This was me after reading the end of The Mime Order….
Can you say waiting for The Song Rising has been agony? YES. IT. HAS. I need more so bad which is why I’m super excited to share the prelude with you today!
It picks up right where it left off in The Mime Order!
I’m going to talk a little bit about my reactions to what’s happening here. So if you haven’t read The Bone Season or The Mime Order, I suggest you stop reading. HOWEVER, I suggest you go to the store or library immediately and pick up both The Bone Season and The Mime Order as soon as possible!
AND HERE IT IS!!!!THE SONG RISING prelude
Speculation Spoilers (Beware!)
I am talking about the prologue here, so read this only if you’ve read The Mime Order AND this new prelude.
At the end of The Mime Order Paige has jumped into a different body of a woman at the Citadel to confront Nashira. Then Nashira reveals to Paige an “old friend”, Jaxon! This was a shocking moment for me and exactly where the book ends!
So, now we find out he knows the Raphiram and has known them for 20 years. As Paige goes back to her body she thinks about this and finally come to the realization that Jaxon was the traitor who foiled Warden’s plans 20 years ago. I did NOT see this coming!
I am very excited to learn more about Jaxon in this book, I think this book sets up perfectly a storyline where we’re going to discover who Jaxon really is and what he really wants. He is the only mime lord who really was rich so he must have been getting paid by the Rephaim well, but for why? Perhaps he is being used to keep the cohorts and all the clairvoyant people against one another. If they’re separate they can never fight against the Rephaim because they’re divided. I’m not sure what his role is, but what I am sure about is that Samantha is a fantastic writer and world builder and I am excited to see where this story goes!
What do you think about this prologue???
