Just for fun, I wanted to put together a post about the most common book cover types. I created a made up author called Madeupa Awethor who wrote all kinds of “books”. 😉 Have you seen lots of books with these types of covers? I know I have! [Read more…]
“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.
I actually don’t know if I’ve ever done a WoW before, but I decided I really wanted to this for.
My Waiting for Wednesday book is REBEL OF THE SANDS by Alwyn Hamilton!
Rebel of the Sands
She’s more gunpowder than girl—and the fate of the desert lies in her hands.Mortals rule the desert nation of Miraji, but mystical beasts still roam the wild and barren wastes, and rumor has it that somewhere, djinni still practice their magic. But there’s nothing mystical or magical about Dustwalk, the dead-end town that Amani can’t wait to escape from.
Destined to wind up “wed or dead,” Amani’s counting on her sharpshooting skills to get her out of Dustwalk. When she meets Jin, a mysterious and devastatingly handsome foreigner, in a shooting contest, she figures he’s the perfect escape route. But in all her years spent dreaming of leaving home, she never imagined she’d gallop away on a mythical horse, fleeing the murderous Sultan’s army, with a fugitive who’s wanted for treason. And she’d never have predicted she’d fall in love with him…or that he’d help her unlock the powerful truth of who she really is.

I saw the cover for this book back in June while I was on vacation and I immediately went to twitter asking if anyone knew anything about this book because it was LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT! That cover! Then over the last couple months I’ve seen the UK cover released and really wanted to make a book trailer for it.
It’s in a created world but has the feel of the Wild West and Arabian Knights ANNNNDDDD fantasy! AMAZING!

I MADE THE SWITCH!
I decided it was time to switch from Blogger to a WordPress based self hosted site. So, here I am!
I’m still working on getting the site organized and figured out (it definitely is harder to work, but I’m learning). Everyone said there was a learning curve and they are 100% correct. There also is an additional cost because I wanted to be able to customize my theme with my book blog. The free WordPress requires you to use one of their templates (annoying!). So, I bought the domain and hosting through www.doteasy.com
Overall I am pleased with the general look of the site and look forward to what my site will look like in the future!
