Into the Dim (Into The Dim #1)
- Historically Accurate: Real Feel
- Unpredictable Plot
HISTORICAL REAL FEEL
I’ve read a few historical books or even fantasy books that feel historical, but one thing that stands out above the rest with Into the Dim is actually feeling like you’re REALLY there! By this, I mean the smells, sights, sounds of the world you’re traveling to. You have to know that things in the 12th century aren’t sanitary (ewww) and even the people spoke and acted the way they should for their time. I really really really loved it. It felt so REAL.
I LOVE it when a book makes me literally laugh out loud. There were many great lines especially in the beginning that made me bust out laughing. I won’t share any and spoil but you will definitely enjoy it.
UNPREDICTABLE PLOT AND CHARACTERS
I had no idea how this book was going to play out. You think you’ll guess everything right but then you JUST DON’T KNOW! Plus some of the characters I went back and forth on whether I trusted them or not. I love not knowing exactly what’s going to happen.
My only issue with the book is I felt it got a bit slow in the middle. The beginning was fabulous and the ending was 150 pages of non-stop heart pounding action.
I definitely recommend reading Into the Dim if you love history. If you are on the fence about historical fiction, keep in mind there is a magical element because of the time traveling and the characters are so charming you will fall in love with them! I gave this book 4 stars!
