Well, it’s here! I’ve officially been book blogging for 2 years! YAY!
How I got started:
I found the book community on Twitter 3 years ago and was so amazed that I could talk to authors of books I loved and then saw these people who were really into book blogging! I had no idea it was a thing.
And I decided, “Hey, I really want to do that. These people are so cool and I want to get involved!” So, I did.
Favorite moments from this last year:
1. I had some amazing book signings this year. 1st was in January with Victoria Schwab and Susan Dennard (along with a whole panel of other fantastic authors). I wasn’t familiar with the other authors at the time but it was so cool to have such a large group of authors together.
I had previously met Susan and she’s always so sweet. I was delighted and so impressed with the humbleness and kindness of Victoria Schwab. What a delightful soul. Elisa Kova was there as well. I will be starting her new series The Alchemists of Loom soon.
But the HUGE bonus to these book signings are all the blogging friends I got to meet in real life! They are all so amazing! Special shout out to Jamie, Jessie, Annalisse, Theresa, Lizzie, Alex, CJ, and more!
2. Maggie Stiefvater signing: I was able to attend another amazing book signing with Maggie Stiefvater. The Scorpio Races is still one of my all time favorite books. I was able to read The Raven Boys before this signing. (I still need to finish reading the series, oops). She was very entertaining and again I got to see my fabulous blogging friends there!
3. BookCon: I had hoped to make it to BEA this year because it was in Chicago but unfortunately I wasn’t able to get off work, BUT last minute my family and I decided to drive out so we could attend BookCon on Saturday! I was so glad I did because I was able to FINALLY meet some of my fellow bloggers in person! Yay for meeting Brittany, Annalisse, Holly, Stephani, Sajda, Melanie, Nori and Mishma.
I also got to meet and see a few authors including, Jay Kristoff, Amie Kaufman, Victoria Aveyard, Susan Dennard, Leigh Bardugo and Marissa Meyer.
Here is my full post!
Starting last fall I started creating book trailers for either books I loved or upcoming books I was excited for! I’ve done 16 and hope to be able to do more over this next year! Thanks to everyone who has said great things and have been super supportive. I am limited in time so I don’t create them as often as I would like, but I do hope to make more in this upcoming year!
I decided last November I wanted to do a book challenge to help myself read books that were already on my shelf, so I created a book challenged called Rock My TBR. I will admit to you, I have not done as well as I had hoped throughout the year but hey, we do the best we can. 😉
Thanks to everyone who has joined buddy reads with me and I hope to continue this challenge into 2017! (and not fail as often, lol)
Last November, Emily from emilyreadseverything.com had asked me about helping her co-host a Blogging Themed Book Chat once a month. I thought that was an awesome idea and it’s been such a fun year doing this chat! We discuss all issues from struggles to successes and everything in between when it comes to book blogging. Thanks Emily for inviting me to join this awesome adventure. #BHPChat (Blog Hop Party Chat) is on the last Tuesday of the month at 9:00 PM, EST! I hope you can join us!
I created a weekly guest post this summer called Rec it Reads where other bloggers/readers/booktubers can guest post and recommend to us any book they want! It is great because there are so many books I’ve never read and I love getting fantastic recommendations!
But most of all, I love interacting with all of you on Twitter! I want to do a special shout out to Carrie, Lisa, Jamie, Kristen, Christy, Brittany and MANY MORE!
YOU ARE ALL AMAZING and what makes blogging worth it!
I’ve been thinking for quite some time what to give away. Favorite books? Themed boxes? Gift cards? So I decided on something in between.
You can win a $50 Gift Card to either Society6 or Etsy! International as long as the items ship to you!
We all have those amazing bookish items we’ve been coveting (mugs, totes, jewelry, prints, tees, candles, etc.) and we don’t always have the extra cash for this stuff (BECAUSE BOOKS MAKE US POOR). So, here’s your chance at a $50 shopping spree at your favorite stores!
