WHY WAS THIS BOOK SO GOOOOOOD?????
Rebel Magisters (Rebel Mechanics #2)
by Shanna Swendson
Tea, Love … and Revolution!
The Rebel Mechanics aren’t the only group plotting revolution against the magical British Empire. There are rebel magisters, as well, and Verity Newton and her magister employer, Lord Henry, know that the only way for the revolution to succeed is if both groups work together. A diplomatic mission seems like the perfect opportunity for them to meet with rebels in other colonies and gather support—right under the governor’s nose.
From drawing rooms, ballrooms, and the harbor in Boston to the streets of Charleston, Verity and Henry find themselves up against stubborn factions of both magisters and Mechanics and increasingly aware that they can only really count on each other as their relationship deepens. It may take a real crisis to unite the rebel movements and rally them to the cause—but could such a crisis also tear them apart?
Upon finishing Rebel Mechanics I knew immediately I needed Rebel Magisters. Rebel Mechanics blew me away with how fun, smart, swoon worthy, and entertaining it was. I devoured it. [Read more…]
Three sisters who have to kill each other for their crown? Sold. This seemed like a storyline I had never seen in fantasy and I’ve been really enjoying fantasy books that teeter on the edge of right and wrong.
Kendare sent me an arc of her book after I made a my own fan made book trailer, so THANK YOU KENDARE! Check out my trailer! [Read more…]

A Court of Mist and Fury (A Court of Thorns and Roses #2)
by Sarah J. Maas
Feyre survived Amarantha’s clutches to return to the Spring Court—but at a steep cost. Though she now has the powers of the High Fae, her heart remains human, and it can’t forget the terrible deeds she performed to save Tamlin’s people.
Nor has Feyre forgotten her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court. As Feyre navigates its dark web of politics, passion, and dazzling power, a greater evil looms—and she might be key to stopping it. But only if she can harness her harrowing gifts, heal her fractured soul, and decide how she wishes to shape her future—and the future of a world cleaved in two.
With more than a million copies sold of her beloved Throne of Glass series, Sarah J. Maas’s masterful storytelling brings this second book in her seductive and action-packed series to new heights.
Let me start off with the fact that I did NOT pre-order this book. I actually didn’t love A Court of Thorns and Roses and had serious mixed feelings about continuing the series. I thought “maybe one day” I would read it….but….day after day, friend after friend kept raving about how ACOMAF was a million times better than ACOTAR.
Here’s my mixed review for ACOTAR.
Alright, let’s get this party started!
***WARNING*** I normally never give spoilers but to be honest, I’m not sure I can talk about this book without some sort of spoilers. I’m keeping it fairly vague but BEWARE if you haven’t read it already. (And if you haven’t, stop whatever you’re doing immediately and go read it!) [Read more…]
